Maltese striker Daniel Bogdanovic claims he is targeting at least double figures this season as he looks to cement a place in the Blades squad.

Bogdanovic, who has enjoyed a run in the side in recent weeks after biding his time on the bench from the start of the season grabbed his first goal for United, as he inspired Saturday’s comeback from two goals down at home to Burnley.

However, the one goal isn’t enough for the former Barnsley man who insists there’s more to come. ‘Football is a matter of having the ability to adapt yourself to the team you are playing for. I am really happy with how things are progressing and, honestly, it is fun at the moment.

‘I believe in myself, I will score goals because it is a habit and it isn’t just for me but all the strikers at the club. Scoring goals isn’t easy but you have to confident and play your part for the team.

‘I always hope to get into double figures in terms of goals and once I achieve that, then who knows how far I can go.’

The striker had a reputation for the way he strolled around the park at Oakwell, but many Blades fans will agree his effort cannot be denied whilst he’s been at Bramall Lane as he looks to make an impression on the coaching staff and he was almost rewarded with a goal from chasing down Clarets ‘keeper Brian Jensen last week. Now the frontman is eager to dismiss reports that he’s only at the club as a PR stunt for the sponsors.

‘People can say I came here because of the Malta connection but talk is cheap, it is about what you do on the pitch, nothing else matters. My only target is to play in the Premiership with Sheffield United and that is the reason I came here. I will give everything I can to help the club achieve that status and our great supporters can help us along the way.’
