It seems that Blades fans think more about football in a day than anyone else in the Premiership, research has shown.
A survey carried out by Virgin Money shows that the average football fan thinks about the game 80 times a day, about once every 12 minutes.
However, the average Blade fan is reported to be way above average and clocks up a massive 110 thoughts about their team daily, putting the Blades top of the league!
The researchers believe that relegation worries may explain United’s position at the top:
‘The Premiership of thinking fans shows Sheffield United edging out Charlton at the top of the table which possibly proves that relegation worries are worse than dreams about honours.’
I’m not quite sure how they actually came up with these results, but I’m not complaining, we’re top of the league for once!
