Henri Camara has joined Greek Premier League side Atromitos, after his Sheffield United contract was not renewed.

The Senegalese international, who joined midway through the season has endured a tough season at Bramall Lane, despite showing glimpses of brilliance.

The former Wigan man has struggled with injuries since his arrival, which has hindered him throughout the campaign, and his inconsistency is what forced Kevin Blackwell to not renew his current deal.

‘It is not only wages that are important, fitness is, too. With clubs likely to operate with smaller squads a manager has to look at players who he knows are likely to be able to give him 35-40 games a season,’ said Kevin Blackwell, adding:

‘We know from the injury problems we had last season that when players break down through long-standing injuries, or the lack of a proper pre-season, it leads to inconsistency and further demands on the budget to bring in loans.’

Camara scored four goals during his time at Bramall Lane, in a total of 2 appearances.
