With the November international break now in full flow, when the usual batch of call-ups were made for the home nations, plenty of Sheffield United fans were questioning why John Fleck was again absent from the Scotland squad.
The 27-year-old Glaswegian has proven to be a fan favourite since his free agent arrival from Coventry City back in the summer of 2016 and he has a total of 110 appearances under his belt at the club, returning seven goals and playing his part in numerous others.

Having been selected a few times for Scotland’s underage setups, he’s yet to earn a senior cap but he does now have a chance of achieving that.
Earlier today, following a glut of injuries and withdrawals it seems from Alex McLeish’s side, Fleck has finally been drafted into the group for his maiden involvement.
Scotland face Albania at the weekend, before playing Israel next Tuesday but he joins them in time for the Israel game only.
