The summer transfer window as we know it is already over but clubs can still take advantage of the loan system which ends at the end of August.

With two games played Sheffield United have yet to pick up a single point having suffered losses to Swansea City and at Middlesbrough. In the two games they have scored just once via right-wing-back George Baldock after he skilfully turned hone Enda Stevens low cross on the opening day of the season.

United fans like myself will pray that results pick up soon but with just three first choice strikers available it is clear that Chris Wilder will need to bolster in this area. Leon Clarke was the clubs top scorer last season but there is no guarantee that he will find the net 19 times again this season.

United also have Billy Sharp and summer signing David McGoldrick at his disposal and could add on-loan Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn to join the front two.

Fans have been screaming all summer for a new out-and-out striker to join the club and we believe that we have found the perfect candidate in Burnley striker Nahki Wells. He joined the Premier League side twelve months ago in a £5million move from Huddersfield Town but has only managed ten appearances from the substitute’s bench.

The 28 year old faces competition from Sam Vokes, Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes as well as their new signing Matej Vydra from Derby County.

Capped 9 times by Bermuda the striker could be available for loan having failed to participate in the Clarets Europa League conquests this summer.

According to the Derbyshire Telegraph Wells could join Derby County on loan as part of the deal. We believe that United should act fast to bring in this much needed talent to Bramall Lane.

What do you think? Would you like to see Nakhi Wells in a red and white shirt?
