Should United be taking a look at Josh Onomah’s situation at Fulham?

According to Football Insider, the two parties are in talks to terminate the midfielder’s contract. The 25-year-old is currently in the final stages of his contract. It is said that a number of Championship clubs are monitoring Onomah’s status.

Last season in the Championship, Onomah wasn’t much of a starter for Fulham, but he did make 20 appearances which saw him contribute directly to 4 goals for the club.

Onomah, formerly of Spurs, is known for his technical ability and vision of the game. His best attributes can be seen in full display during passing combinations, in and around the opposition penalty area. He is also good at breaking up play.

The 25-year-old can play as an attacking-midfielder or on the left, or right, of a midfield trio.

My Verdict

Given the current predicament that United find themselves in, selling Berge, lifting the embargo, and bringing in Onomah on a free is a must.

United could bring in Lewis O’Brien and Josh Onomah which would be great additions to the midfield depth.

In O’Brien, they would have a high energy left footed player that can dictate the game.

Onomah, on the other hand, is more of a quality over quantity type of midfielder. Quite similar to Berge in that respect.
