After the first-team were beaten in the FA Cup, now it’s the juniors’ turn…

The Blades academy side tonight face Aston Villa in a highly-anticipated FA Youth Cup Semi-Final clash at Villa Park.

The Blades have come through three tough games to get to this stage, and are just a two-legged tie away from a televised final showdown with either Manchester United or Chelsea.

However, considering the pedigree of the recent young villains, it will be no easy feat for the John Pemberton’s men.

“The boys have got to where they are on merit.

“They`ve not been handed this opportunity through sheer good luck. They are where they are because they`ve earned it.

“Every game we`ve played up to this point has presented them with a different challenge and, so far, they`ve come through them all.”

“We want to make sure that we give ourselves a good chance when Villa come to our place. Make no mistake they are a very good side but I`m sure Villa will be giving us the same respect that we`ll be giving them because the boys have definitely earned and deserve it.”

Blades to watch out for

Terry Kennedy & Harry Maguire: Two in-form central defenders who will have a tough task tonight and will need to be alert if the Blades are to keep it close.

Elliot Whitehouse: Goalscoring hero at the weekend, he certainly has the surname to make it at Bramall Lane.

Jordan Slew: The spearhead of the Blades attack with first-team substitute appearances under his belt as well as an international cap.
