Sheffield United booked a place in round 4 of the FA Cup but not before leaving the visiting support biting their nails.

Three goals in three second half minutes proved vital in the game, induced by Jamie Ward’s introduction on 67 minutes. In under a minute, the former Chesterfield forward met Quinn’s ball to fire low past Cerny and double the Blades lead after Lee Williamson had put the Blades in front on 18 minutes.

Within a minute of the restart Ward found space on the right once again, and this time picked out Cresswell in the middle who netted his third Blades goal, and second in successive games.

The chaos didn’t end there, as home fans jeered Paul Hart’s men, the Hoops were given a penalty thanks to the hand of Derek Geary. Akos Buzsaky stepped up and scored with a well placed penalty into the corner.

Darius Henderson replaced Cresswell with fifteen minutes remaining on his comeback from injury but it was the home side who fired the next blow. Buzsaky this time turning provider, as his free-kick was headed home by Jamaican Damion Stewart.

Mark Bunn was on hand late on to make two important saves, before the referee eventually brought the tie to an end leaving the majority of the 5,070 fans venting their anger at manager Hart.
