Sheffield United return to Bramall Lane tonight, looking to capitalise on Nigel Adkins’ departure from Scunthorpe United, and make in three wins in a row.

The Blades, fresh from their 1-0 victory at Derby on Saturday, will be looking to get their first victory over Scunthorpe United since 1983, when Ian Porterfield’s men were 5-3 victors in an old third division clash on home turf.

There are no new injury concerns for boss Gary Speed, whose biggest decision will be whether to stick with the side that has won the previous two games, or recall Chris Morgan to the heart of the defence. Jean Calve’s match fitness could make this decision for him, if the Frenchman isn’t able to play two games in four days, especially with a home game against Portsmouth this Saturday.

For Scunthorpe, Rob Jones could play a part after it was intially feared he’d miss out, along with former Blades Jonathan Forte, returning to the club he started his career.

Match Stat

f the Blades win, it will be the first time they’ve managed three consecutive league victories since December 2009, when they beat Peterborough , Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle.
