Sheffield United enter the 2019 portion of the current Championship campaign with another victory owing to Saturday’s victory over Blackburn Rovers.

After a goalless first half at Bramall Lane, the game more exploded into life after both sides were reduced to ten men as Chris Basham and Richie Smallwood saw straight red cards. A brace of goals from Billy Sharp was added to by a David McGoldrick effort and all three strikes came in the final 20 minutes of the game.

With Sharp getting two goals on the day, statistics website Whoscored obviously gave him their star man award with a score of 8.37.

He was closely following by McGoldrick who also added an assist to his name, with a score of 8.33. Completing the top five best performers from the afternoon were Enda Stevens (8.20), John Fleck (7.69) and John Egan (7.43).

Such was the overall performance on the day, Jack O’Connell, George Baldock and goalkeeper Dean Henderson also received seven-plus scores from the win.
