According to Alan Nixon [The Sun], Sheffield United are looking at signing newly released Crystal Palace attacking-midfielder, Nya Kirby.

The 22 year-old didn’t make a single appearance for Palace, instead he had to settle for game time in the u23’s for the club. Kirby scored 7 goals and made 2 assists in 20 games last season, in the PL2 Division 1.

He also played twice in the EFL Trophy last season for the u23’s, against Portsmouth and AFC Wimbledon.

Kirby had a loan spell away from Selhurst Park in the 18/19 season in hope of getting more first team minutes. However, the former England u19 international could only manage 6 appearances for Tranmere in League 2.

But the London man, who was signed by Palace from Spurs’ youth team. Now Kirby Kirby has to find a new club, and with Sheffield United needing to find a replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White, this may work well for both parties.

As well as playing as an attacking-midfielder, Kirby can also play slightly deeper in more of a box-to-box role.

The rumours of Ben Wiles [The Star] signing for United have gone quiet, but now United are said to be in for Nya Kirby. So are the Blades looking at revamping their midfield?

Not to forget that if Ismaila Coulibaly can hit the ground running in friendlies, then he’ll be like a new signing for the Blades in the next coming season too.

With last seasons midfield loan signings, Conor Hourihane and Morgan Gibbs-White, not coming back to the Lane for this season, United do need to add depth to the midfield area.
