Not since 1993 have Sheffield United lost to Yorkshire rivals Leeds, and the Blades will be hoping that this good fortune continues at the weekend.

It will be a return to Elland Road for Gary Speed, who is still held in high regard there from his playing days, and is sure to receive the most positive reaction of any previous Blades boss.

However, once the formalities are over, it’s the actions on the field that will matter to the travelling Blades faithful, as Speed looks to build on the victory over Portsmouth last week.

Nyron Nosworthy is expected to replace the injured Chris Morgan in United’s only change, and new signing Richard Wright should take up a position on the bench.

For the home side, new signing George McCartney should start in the problem left-back area.

  • Lots of talk about Speed bringing in Richie De Laet on a 3 month loan from Man U. Fergie bought him in from Stoke in 2009, Belgum International, only played a hand full of first team games, but is said to be highly rated at Old Trafford. He is 21 yrs old, 6ft 1″ and can play anywhere along the back four.

  • Shocking today, set off with the intentions of getting a draw, and didnt evn get that!!!! Cressy,Evans, and Monty very poor today.
Only good thing about today was the Fantastic support, they really dont deserve it at times.

  • great support? they didn’t even fill the away end gazza…hence the reason why the ticket office was open until late in friday evening…..shocking!!

  • people on here constantly praise macabe as a saint…unfortuntely he is the only person thatn can change things…and yes it is as simple as that!! the squad needs more carisma…we needa tarabut and a jamie mackie in the side!!

  • BFL,the support that went to Leeds was awesome we totlly outsung the scum, they mustve been embarrased by how loud and vocal we were, so your comment about not selling out is irrelevant, Oh by the way was you there??

  • yes i was there and was sat in the west upper with the scum along with another 30 other blades….and no we wernt as lound as you think….when your in it all it sounds loud but where i was sat and that was just above the blades and to the left abit the noise was nothing out of the norm. they really should have sold there full allocation that was embarassing bet there were no more than 1,800 blades there.

  • we havent even sold 1500 tickets for the forest game tomorrow night…whats really embarassing is that wendy have sold there full allocation of 3500 for there trip to notts county on saturday with 5 days to go!!….and thats with all the problems they have and bitterness against the club…or support is awfull this season and the away support has gone back to what it was 10 years ago!!!

  • So BFL you and about 30 other blades sat in L**ds seats …… WHY? thats another 30+blades that didnt buy tix for blades seats, and then you MOAN when we dont sell out. Ok i know that 30 wouldnt have sold it out but how many others do that??
pointless in my book. you aint gonna cause any trouble, your only gonna get arrested and it all kicked offf outside anyway so if thats your thing you couldve get plenty outside!!!
