Sheffield United have this afternoon been linked with defender Nyron Nosworthy, as Kevin Blackwell looks to boost his numbers in defence.

Nosworthy, who spent six months on loan a Bramall Lane last season has been made availabe by Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, providing their valuation is met.

However, should the Blades find the cash then it’s expected that Nosworthy will join Bogdanovic, Ertl and Britton who have all recently agreed deals with the club.

  • Frankly I wouldn’t spend money on Nosworthy either fee or wages – there are better options out there!

  • Better the devil you know, than the devil you dont, Harrogate. I would have time bomb Nosworthy back, but wouldnt pay any more than £300k for him.

  • Im with you florida id have him bk as long as we dont go crazy and give him silly money but wud do the job we need with morgs

  • Disagree – he is an expensive option and was not exactly a spectacular success – there ARE much better deals out there!

  • He isnt worth the £500k reported in that rag, The Mail. Anyway its wages that are the problen, so it probably wont happen. If there are better deals, we dont seem to be finding them yet.

  • Hope you are right KopBlade – he would be a welcome addition and at least as good as Bailey (snapped up by ‘Boro) who I also fancied. Not so sure about the fee ..
    a) is he worth that?
    b) would we pay that?
Just makes me worried about how good a source this is!
