Blades held at home

Sheffield United`s stuttering start to the season continued with a 1-1 home draw against Colchester United.

The blades had to come from behind to earn a point after Freddie Sears had put the visitors ahead following a break by the visitors.

Harry Maguire scored his second goal of the season on the stroke of half time when Colchester goalkeeper Sam Walker made a hash of his long-range effort.

Walker thwarted both Lyle Taylor and Conor Coady in the second half as Sheffield United looked for a winner whilst Jabo Ibehre thought he had scored for the visitors only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

Sheffield United have now picked up four points from their opening three games and sit in thirteenth place in League One.
