Despite being manager-less (again), the Blades are eyeing their first coup of the Summer, with Cheltenham Town striker Wes Thomas likely to arrive at Bramall Lane.

Thomas, who has hit nineteen goals this season for the Robins was part of the Dagenham & Redbridge team that gained promotion last season after an early career playing non-league football.

It was this season however, after signing a one-year deal at Cheltenham that the 24 year-old enjoyed his most successful season. With his contract up next month, he has been hesitant to sign a new one with interest from Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Crystal Palace and now the Blades.

It would leave the door open for high-earners Ched Evans and Darius Henderson to leave, cutting the Blades hefty wage bill.

If he does sign, let’s hope we don’t get another donkey
