Sheffield United have recently been linked with Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg. According to the Daily Mail, the Blades face competition from Watford, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers to sign the youngster on loan.

Van den Berg spent the last 18 months on loan at Preston and impressed during his time at Deepdale, but has been linked with a move back to the Championship in search of regular game time.

The Dutch u21 international can play centre-back as well as a right fullback or wingback. He showed his versatility during his 66 appearances for Preston North End as he varied between those positions.

If United are to get him on loan for the season, I would suspect that he would fill the right-wingback role before Jayden Bogle has fully recovered from his knee injury. Though the Blades will have to fight off a lot of rival Championship clubs to get his signature.
