I think well all agree that it’s not been ‘a great start’ to the month, it could be argued that February didn’t end brilliantly either as such – even so we’re are up for a double award!

When the announcement was made this week we found our that Nigel Clough, having seen us collect 14-points from our seven-matches in League 1 in February is up for the League 1 Manager of the Month award.

To earn this though he’ll have to overcome, Steve Cotterill (Bristol City) – and we did beat them so that gives him the edge? Eight-matches in 28-days though yielded an impressive 16-points!

With a full compliment of 15-points from those available Simon Grayson (Preston) could take some beating? They didn’t concede either! But perhaps the main rival is Rob Page (Port Vale) as he’s lifted them into promotion contention when they were previously struggling.

Up for the League 1 Player of the Month is Jamie Murphy.

He is the name on a lot of people’s lips at the moment him impressing with his ability to take on and beat players, if he isn’t scoring himself, which he did three times, he’s setting up others – he also got himself a new deal!

If he’s going to win this he’ll have to beat young Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack, who has helped guide his club towards the play-off and scored a couple of goals.

Bristol City also have Aden Flint in the reckoning as he played in all eight of their matches in February and helped them to four cleansheets, he also grabbed a couple of goals too.

Finally he comes up against Crawley’s Izale McLeod’s, he scored a hat-trick in the five-one thrashing of Barnsley and another against Yeovil with his ‘key performance’ against Swindon in a two-one win highlighted.

Will one, or both, win something? We’ll find out on Friday!
