Sheffield United crashed out of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy against struggling League Two side Hartlepool United to increase the pressure on manager David Weir.

Weir made five changes from the side that drew with Crawley Town on Friday night but it was still a strong side for the second round clash.

James Poole scored the only goal of the game on 37 minutes as the blades Achilles heel of not being able to convert chances this season continues to be their downfall.

The blades created plenty of chances but were unable to beat Scott Flinders in the visitors goal and their best chance was in the opening minute of the game when Jose Baxter clipped the crossbar.
