Sheffield United have had four of their away games moved to accomodate television coverage with the first being on the very first day.

As usual, United’s opening fixture has been rearranged, although rather than kickiing-off before the rest of the country, the Blades will now be playing Cardiff City a day later.

Meanwhile, trips to the Riverside and Pride Park to face Derby County and Middlesborough have also been altered for SKY coverage, both of which have been televised over the past two seasons.

Finally, United’s short trip up the M18 to the Keepmoat stadium has also been shifted, and will now kick-off two hours later to feature on the television in full HD no doubt (even Chris Morgan).

It will be the fourth time in five seasons that the first fixture has been altered, with the Blades winning one, drawing two and losing one.

  • lee croft has just signed for huddersfield on a 6 month loan deal from derby…now that would have been a good signing for us. is blackwell actually on the look out for players?

  • dont agree with that bfl we want to move forward not backwards saw him alot over the years hes not better than wat weve got

  • Agree, Kop. He couldnt get into a poor Derby side. Needs to spend less time on Soccer AM and focus on his football a bit more.

  • i agree lads – last year i wanted croft but since then weve seen ward come, we’ve signed yeates, cresswell can do a job williamson when fit can plus we dont really use wide men that much!! fact thats he dropped a level instead of staying in championship says a bit unless its jsut for the wages….

  • fair point just thought he could do us a job, always looked a real threat when he came to the lane…still only 25 too even if he does look 48.

  • heard we are interested in scott loach at watford now that would be a brilliant signing if we could afford him that is
