Bit of a Blip

I`ve not had much time to write any articles recently, being away at sea. I have been following the games via Sky Sports on BFBS TV out here, even stayed up, due to the time difference, to watch the defeat against Villa, which I was gutted to see us lose in the last minute of that game.

I had a high expectation yesterday when I was sat onboard watching the game against Wolves. I know Moore couldn`t really do much to save that opener from Neves, but something didn`t look right.

We weren`t closing down as effectively as we used to do before I came away. Stearman seems to be the preferred choice in the centre of the back; I`m not sure where Wright is nowadays. I don`t think we`ve recovered from losing Paul Coutts to injury but nobody seems to be filling that role in the centre of midfield. I noticed that Lee Evans is doing pretty well, and honestly I prefer him there than Lundstram, but I`m a bit surprised that Duffy has been left on the bench for the last two games. Wilson hasn`t been that effective in the last two games either and Sharp seems to be having a bit of a spell on the sidelines as well.

I can`t give Wolves grief though, they played pretty well, it`s just a shame we couldn`t replicate the return result earlier in the season. Having said that though, Moore had a rush of blood to the head in the second half and was sent off. That`s us without our first choice keeper for a few games now, so I wonder if Eastwood will start. I think Eastwood is a pretty decent keeper having seen him in pre-season friendly matches before. Might be time for him to prove to the gaffer that he has what it takes to push for the number one slot for a few games.

On another note, I`m a bit confused as to where David Brooks is at the moment. I know he was out over the festive period with an illness but haven`t seen hide or hare of him for a while now. Surely he can`t still be poorly?

Anyway, we`re on telly again next Saturday against Leeds, who seem to be struggling. I think we should use this opportunity and get ourselves back on track, put a bit more daylight between us and the Wendy`s and push for the play-offs. If we can get a result there I reckon we stand a chance of getting back on track looking at our next few games. After Leeds we`ve got QPR, Hull, and Reading, which we`ve had decent results against, so hopefully we can pick our heads up and push on.

I am really impressed with our fans though, every time we are on the box all you can hear is the Shoreham Boys drowning out the opposition. I reckon we`ve the best support in the Championship, and I`m sure the players appreciated the twelfth man!

I`ll be glued to the telly watching Sky via the British Forces TV next Saturday afternoon. Fingers crossed for the win and a few points in the bag.

UTB!!!
