Sheffield United face the second of their big three consecutive tests when they entertain Manchester City at Bramall Lane tomorrow (kick-off; 12.30) with fans again absent from attending. Having faced Liverpool last weekend the Blades travel to Chelsea next weekend without a win on the board.

Sheffield United remain without a victory after six Premier League games. The point earned in their last home fixture with Fulham is the only league point the club has earned this season, before going to two difficult fixtures with Manchester City (tomorrow), and at Chelsea next weekend.

They came mighty close to causing an upset in their last fixture at Premier League Champions Liverpool, losing two-one but the splendid performance they put in has given Blades supporters hope that positive results are soon around the corner. After a shaky start the Blades, surprisingly took the lead via a Sander Berge penalty after VAR ruled that Oli McBurnie had been tripped inside the box. The hosts levelled shortly before half-time when Roberto Firmino pounced to score after Aaron Ramsdale had saved Sadio mane’s header. Mohammed Salah saw a goal ruled out for offside and Diogo Jota headed home Mane’s cross to give Liverpool the victory.

Chris Wilder may look to starting Rhian Brewster and Oli McBurnie once again in attack. The pair started the game at Anfield and looked in the early stages as a formidable pair. However, they will be without Lys Mousset (ankle), who is sidelined by injury but have the services of David McGoldrick, Billy Sharp and Oliver Burke in reserve.

Defender Jack O’Connell (knee) is expected to be sidelined for the entire season and requires surgery, whilst Max Lowe (head) is still absent and John Fleck (back), maybe fit in time to face the Citizens.
