Holt had already gone closer with a header with us threatening to breakthrough.

Scowen and Hourihane had Barnsley’s best chance in the first half, which looked set to end without a goal…. Until Blackpool loanee Davies (42) headed home for his first goal since finally arriving.

He was denied in the first half but Holt (71) wasn’t in the second half, his strike from 20-yards secured the points!

Victory consolidated our position in fifth and opened up a four-point gap on Chesterfield, who are a further four-points clear of Barnsley after this.
