Olly writes his latest piece ahead of tomorrow’s away match at Middlesbrough.
After the weekend’s defeat to Swansea at home I’m hoping we can turn it around and grab a result away at Boro. I know it’s only the second game of the season and we shouldn’t be panicking with just one game done and dusted, but we did look a bit ropey at times on Saturday evening, and as I said in my previous article the new lads might not have settled yet.
Boro left it late to snatch a draw away at Millwall with goals in the 87th and 97th minutes to grab the point. If they are having problems scoring, even with Assombalonga in their squad, we may stand a decent chance to capitalise on this.
We need to get back to a solid midfield that can supply the front two lads, something of which was missing on Saturday, and with Coutts back in full training, I think every Blades fan is waiting with anticipation as to whether CW will reunite him with Duffy and Fleck in midfield. That was the power-house of last season until his injury at Burton.
Duffy made an instant impact when he was brought off the bench on Saturday and we played a lot more attacking football for the short time he was on the pitch. I’m hoping Egan has had time to settle as well. We need these back two as a brick wall at the back this season, as there’s some tasty teams to come up against, and we don’t want any slip-ups!
I won’t be making the trip North tomorrow though but will be listening on BBC Radio Sheffield, something the pigs in S6 won’t be doing this season haha.
Anyhow, fingers crossed for a solid performance and a great win to bring back all three points to BDTBL.
UTB!!
