Lots of Blades fans have been discussing one man’s displays for the club after the club singled out his performance.
He certainly has been one of the Blades’ standout performers this season hasn’t he? Indeed he hold the top rating for the club on WhoScored.com’s ranking of the team. So any chance that the club is going to take to show him off to the fanbase, they are natural going to take.
I’m talking of course about Chris Basham.
Yesterday the club decided to ‘revisit’ the game from earlier in the season where the Blades played Bournemouth at Bramall Lane, a game where John Lundstram scored in the latter stages to grab all three points for Chris Wilder’s men. Basham though was a pretty formidable force that day, winning three aerial duels and four tackles whilst at the same time maintaining an 80% pass completion rate.
Should Chris Basham be a part of Premier League Team Of The Year?
Yes
No
So the club decided to give him his own special tweet to highlight his performance that day, and many fans used it as a chance to talk about not just his display that day, but his time at the club overall since he joined in the summer of 2014.

Basham is one player that has emerged as a quality premiership player, his transformation from a bit player in league one is quite remarkable

Unsung hero. It'll take a good few quid to replace him when the time comes. Calling him a club legend would not be out of place 👏👏👏👏

Here’s hoping he’s got a few more of these days left in him.
