Sheffield United defender Leigh Bromby is in talks with Leeds United over a proposed move to the League 1 club.

Bromby, who made his loan deal permanent over the summer is yet to make a first team appearance in the league, despite an impressive pre season, which saw him get on the scoresheet on more than one occasion.

The Blades have also sealed a deal for the departure of David Carney to FC Twente for a fee of around £400,000 and Justin Haber has joined Hungarian sister club Justin Haber to ‘allow him more games, which will enhance his international career’.

Haber and Carney both joined the Blades on the eve of sponsorship deals from their respective clubs, and not that we would speculate this had anything to do with the signings, but neither have managed to make an impression on the first team.

Another player linked with a move away is Billy Sharp, who is supposedly a target for Doncaster Rovers and Notts County. However, manager Kevin Blackwell has told the official site that Sharp hasn’t been approached but it wouldn’t surprise him.

‘I haven’t heard that rumour but nothing Notts County do now will surprise me. I said earlier this summer that no-one could have predicted that Sven Goran Eriksson would go there, but since they have added Kaspar Schmeichel and now Sol Campbell who had interest from the Premiership.

‘They showed their ambition with Sven and they have backed it up with those signings.’

Finally, some websites are speculating that the Blades could be in line for a a Premiership mdifielder, and Michael Tonge has also been linked by a number of sources.

Ex Blades Michael Brown and Danny Webber could be sealing new moves this week. Michael Brown is supposedly a target for Portsmouth, and Danny Webber could be on his way to Middlesborough after a deal with Swansea couldn’t be agreed.
