Alan Wiley was tonight announced as the referee for Friday evening’s Steel City derby at Bramall Lane.
Wiley, a referee with Premiership experience will be the centre of attention following last year’s controversial game at Hillsborough when Mike Dein sent off Matthew Kilgallon in the first half.
Hopefully, for both sides the referee will only have a minor role to play, but his call could have a significant outcome on which half of the city has the bragging rights until the return at Hillsborough.
