The Lionesses are through to the Euro semi-final after coming from behind to beat Spain 2-1 last night. England will be playing the semi-final at Bramall Lane on Tuesday the 26th of July against either Sweden or Belgium.

The women’s national team conceded their first goal of the tournament last night but that didn’t deter them. As soon as they got the equaliser through Ella Toone in the 84th minute, there was a huge shift in momentum to end the game, and it followed through into extra time. Georgia Stanway won the game with a magnificent right-footed strike from outside of the box which rocketed into the top left corner.

It’s a great story this summer. Individually it’s a dream come true for one player in particular, Millie Bright. The 28 year-old defender grew up supporting Sheffield United as a youngster. Bright also had a spell in the Blades youth academy.

Being a Blade and playing for the national team at beautiful downtown Bramall Lane must be a dream come true for the Chelsea defender, and providing they win and get to the final, it will be a moment that Bright will cherish forever.
