Former City striker struggles…

There were some important goals scored by the Welshman this season, but ultimately it was more of the same, as the former Machester City striker saw his season ravaged by injury. Evans ended the clubs top scorer with 9.

Evans got off to a fine start putting the Blades into a lead against Cardiff City in South Wales, and also netted the winning goals in games against Portsmouth and Swansea City. However, niggling knocks throughout the season saw him miss the odd week just as he was hitting form.

His potential was brought out by Andy Reid who provided the ideal contributory to Evans, but when left to his own devices, it again was a number of lethargic displays mixed with dropped shoulders.

The striker is likely to leave in the Summer and will more than likely make a great striker for a team in the Championship, unfortunately for United fans, like Billy Sharp, S2 just wasn`t for him.

Season highlight: Scoring the winning goal in John Carver`s caretaker spell opener against Swansea City.

Season lowlight: Once again lacking the consistency, Evans failed to endear himself to the Bramall Lane faithful.

End of season grade: C – A pass, but can do better.
