Following the lull in the fixture list for the November international break, Sheffield United were back in action on Saturday as we made the trip to the New York Stadium to face Rotherham United in the early kickoff.

Mark Duffy opened the scoring eight minutes into the first half but the game came more to life in the second 45 as the hosts hit back to level the scores up. Chris Basham restored our lead with five minutes to go, but they again hit back in stoppage time to take what many will think was a deserved point for their efforts.

We had more of the ball but did far less than they did with it, mustering only six efforts on goal across the game whereas the statistics say they had 26 shots overall.

Not the result or the performance we’d have liked but a point is a point and it could be useful down the line.

According to website Whoscored Basham came top of our ratings pile, but he was quickly followed by Dean Henderson (7.55) and Mark Duffy (7.50).

Our top five on the day were completed by John Egan (7.31) and Enda Stevens (7.00) and it’s not a surprise to see our defence rank well given how the game played out.

On to the next one now.
