On Saturday, Sheffield United made the trip down to the Midlands to visit The Hawthorns and fellow promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion and a certain Everton loanee took his opportunity to shine.

The hosts had the far better of the game, but in created one more chance on target than they did, we made it count completely as Kieran Dowell’s 14th minute effort was enough to secure all three points and the win as we kept the clean sheet and the Blades clearly have the advantage over West Brom now when it comes to the battle for an automatic promotion slot this year.

Statistics website Whoscored were pretty positive in their player ratings for the side, but on loan Everton man Dowell stole the show, earning their star man rating with a score of 7.70 for his efforts across the 90 minutes.

Completing the top five were Enda Stevens (7.47), Martin Cranie (7.40), Oliver Norwood (7.34) and goalkeeper Dean Henderson (7.21).

Unless we blow it, that’s Albion out of the race so now all eyes to Norwich City and Leeds United (who probably have eyes on us anyway from a nearby hedge).
